4 Types of LVT Flooring

Aug. 01, 2024

LVT flooring is a very common category of resilient flooring. It is easy to install, has a long service life and is easy to maintain. After several years of development, there are now 4 major categories of LVT flooring, with a wide range of cost coverage and suitable for various budgets.

LVT flooring is a type of PVC flooring. The main components are PVC resin and stone powder. The internal structure generally includes UV coating, wear-resistant layer, color film layer, and core material layer. It has the advantages of being green and environmentally friendly, super wear-resistant, comfortable to the foot, and moisture-proof and mildew-proof, and is widely accepted in the commercial and home decoration fields.

Dry-back LVT flooring

Dry-back LVT flooring is the most basic type of LVT. There is no adsorption device on the back of the floor and no lock on the side. Floor glue is required for collage during installation. Dry-back LVT is cost-effective and has strong applicability. It is often used in construction projects, commercial areas and other spaces with large paving areas and high cost control requirements.

Peel & Stick LVT flooring

The peel & stick LVT flooring has its own glue on the back. When installing, just tear off the film paper to achieve pasting, without the need to prepare additional floor glue. Compared with dry-back LVT, peel & stick LVT is a leapfrog upgrade, making installation faster and more convenient, and the labor cost required is also reduced.

Click LVT flooring

Don't want to damage the original floor when installing the floor, and hope to reuse the floor repeatedly? Paste-type flooring obviously cannot meet the needs, you can try DECNO's click LVT floor! The edge of the floor is equipped with European patented locks, which can be directly spliced and installed, and DIY enthusiasts can also master it easily. Due to the need to make locks, this type of floor is relatively thick. Although the cost is relatively higher, it feels softer and more comfortable on the feet, which is a quality-oriented choice.

Loose Lay LVT flooring

In addition to click LVT flooring, loose lay LVT flooring can also be installed without glue. This type of floor does not have a smooth backing film on the back, but an undulating honeycomb soft backing layer. It is heavy and can provide greater friction, which can be directly adsorbed on the ground by its own weight. Due to its thicker thickness and softer back, loose lay LVT has slightly lower requirements for ground flatness and is softer.
